Q: What is the cancellation policy?

A: Cancellation Policy 

If Rockin Thunder River Tours cancels a trip at any time for any reason including mechanical issues, bad weather or river conditions customers will be refunded in full.

Customer cancellations for the 75 mile Lunch Excursion, 40 mile Scenic River Tour & 20 mile Rockin River Tour made less than 24 hours prior to start time will receive a voucher valid for 1 year.

Customer cancellations for the 90 mile Sunday Dinner Adventure made less than 4 days prior to departure date will receive a voucher valid for 1 year.

Customer cancellations for the 155 mile 2 Day Kentucky River Adventure made less than 7 days prior to departure date will receive a voucher valid for 1 year.

Q: How would you describe the 5 different River Tours?
A:– The 20 mile ROCKIN RIVER TOUR is big laughs and all fun! You will rocket through spins,  slides and fishtails. Be prepared to get splashed maybe wet. The Rockin River Tour gives you great scenery, outrageous river stories and excitement all in one tour.

The SCENIC, LUNCH, DINNER and KENTUCKY RIVER tours are dry rides and allow you to soak up the wonders of the river. Your Captain will inform you of geologic and historic points of interest, point out wildlife, share river stories and provide great photo opportunities. If everyone in the boat is up for it there may even be a few spins just for fun.

Whichever trip you choose be prepared to experience the wonderful river and just have fun.


Q: What if I have health issues?
A: A boat ride by its very nature creates forces that may not be acceptable to some persons.Only guests in good health should participate in a river tour. For your safety do not ride if you are pregnant.


Q: How does seating work?
A: All seating is managed by the boat Captain. Safety is # 1, therefore small children are prohibited from the side seats. All seat positions in the boats are good. Some have slightly more legroom therefore the Captain may assign those to taller passengers. Your Captain will seat everyone for your maximum safety and comfort.


Q: When is the river tour season?
A: Rockin Thunder River Tours operates everyday except Tuesdays from Memorial Day weekend into October. Weather and river conditions permitting.


Q: Where are you located?
A: From Mid May through October our ticket kiosk is located on the Ohio River at the foot of West Street on Vaughn Drive in the historic district of Madison Indiana.


Q: How early should we arrive to board?
A: We ask that all passengers arrive 30 minutes prior to a trip. This allows you to get checked in and meet your boat Captain. Please be on time and do not keep your fellow passengers waiting.


Q: May I bring a camera?
A: We encourage you to bring cameras but ONLY on the SCENIC, LUNCH, DINNER and KENTUCKY RIVER rides. We strongly suggest you do not bring any electronic equipment on the ROCKIN RIVER TOUR. Due to the chance of getting wet Rockin Thunder River Tours will not be responsible for any damage to electronics carried aboard. If you must carry electronics aboard you will be given a zip lock bag but all risk of damage is yours.


Q: Do you accept credit cards?
A: We gladly accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover and American Express.


Q: Is the boat driver really a Captain?
A: Yes. Your boat driver is a US Coast Guard licensed Master Captain, a professional Merchant Marine Officer with years of boating experience and extensive training.
